iPod Recovery after Receiving Error
Ever since Apple launched the iPods, they have become a household name. With their iPod shuffle and classic, Apple established itself in the portable music player market. And by including video compatibility and support for photos, they have found followers from all walks of life. But does that mean that the iPods are not vulnerable to data loss? As a matter of fact, they are! It is possible that a user does encounter loss of data, thereby calling for extensive iPod data recovery.
Consider, while syncing your Shuffle with the iTunes installed on your Mac machine, you abruptly find that the sync process fails. Instead, you receive the below stated error message:
“Attempting to copy to the disk failed. An unknown error occurred (-69)”
Completely taken aback by this sudden behavior of your system, you find unable to decide what would be the right thing to do in such circumstances. You cannot do anything in such circumstances.
The reason behind occurrence of the above stated error message is that iTunes tries to send corrupt, damaged or unusable data to your iPod Shuffle. To handle this error, the user needs to analyze that transferring of which of the files is leading to this error.
To begin with, you need to update iTunes to the latest version available.
1. Now, with the mouse on the iPod icon, control-click and choose Sync Songs. The error appears immediately after appearance of the file (that appears on top of iTunes Window) that is creating the problem. The file might be an audio or video file.
2. Immediately, remove the file from the list of files that need to be synced (by unchecking the name of that file). Select ‘Music’ from Source Pane of iTunes in case the audio file is bad, and likewise choose ‘Movies’ if it is a video file.
3. Start Sync again. And keep observing the top panel of the iTunes window.
4. Either, the Sync operation completes successfully, or, gives the same error in iTunes.
5. You will need to uncheck the file that has caused this error.
6. Keep repeating until the Sync operation completes successfully. Successful completion implies that the files that have been synced, are not corrupt or damaged.
Though a slow process, you can get going all over again.
But if it doesn’t work in your favor, then you have to restore your iPod. Though, it is the best solution to all the problems, as it helps to recover iPod data, it also acts as a data eraser measure. In such a situation, you either need to use an updated backup for iPod Data Recovery
