4 Keys To Improving CPA Success

Choosing the Right Network

CPA got a fairly bad name a few years ago as unscrupulous marketers were making false promises in order to get people to fill out their offers. They would claim people could win huge prizes or make outrageous claims, and let’s not forget the “Free iPod” offers from a few years back!

Nowadays there are dozens of CPA networks to choose from, some are more professional than others, and just like affiliate networks, the big industry names tend to use just a few of the larger CPA networks. The industry leader is currently NeverBlue.com, but be warned, they have very high requirements to be accepted and unless you are already earning money from CPA offers, it’s best to wait before applying to their network. CPABullet and Azoogle are both very well respected CPA networks and have a huge variety of offers from household names that people will recognize.

If you choose a smaller network then you need to be aware that the offers may not be as high paying, no recognized names which help increase conversion and may be of a more dubious nature – acai berry offers for example.

Optimizing Your Site

You can place the best offers and highest converting offer in the network, but unless your site is optimized to lead people to the offer, then you may be leaving a lot of money on the table.

Obviously the first thing you should do is to make sure the CPA offer is relevant to your site, there’s no point putting ringtone offers on a financial site! You need to make sure that the offers look like additional part of the site content, certainly don’t make the ads stand out because people are more ad-blind than ever.

Steady Supply of US Traffic

Even if your site gets thousands of visitors, unless the bulk of them are from the US, you are likely to find that you have poor conversions on your CPA offers. Unless you find an offer that is global or for your specific country, there is little point putting an offer for US mortgages on a site aimed at people in the UK!

You must make sure that your site is relevant to a US market, and if it isn’t, consider making a new one. If it is relevant to a global audience, but still isn’t getting much US traffic, consider paying for visitors using AdWords or other PPC networks like Yahoo or MSN.

Constantly Testing Your Offers

You should know exactly how well offers convert on your website and the only way to do that is to split test offers over a suitable number of visitors. You need to be looking to test each offer over at least 1,000 unique visitors and discover the conversion ratio and how much it earned – obviously an offer that pays $1.50 and has a 10% conversion will not be as profitable as an offer which pays $5 and has a 4% conversion.

Once you know your exact conversions, you can start paying for traffic and be secure in the knowledge that you expect to make money from the visitors you are paying for.
