Will Pay As You Go Sim Cards Work With The iPhone Clones? If So, Which Ones?

I think that it’s probably fair to say that many people who are interested in the CECT cloned phones are trying to avoid a large commitment or contract. One major appeal to these phones is that you’re free to go with any applicable carrier that you wish. You are not limited to only one company or network for a finite period of time. And, you’re free to move around or make changes if you outgrow who you are currently with.

To that end, I get a lot of questions about pre paid sim card usage with these CECT clones. Consumers really like pre paid or pay as you go sim cards because there is no commitment. If you want to make a change, you basically no longer add money, minutes, or messaging to the cards and you’re free to walk away.

There are many pay as you go cards that work great with the CECT and other types of clones. Typically, the only requirement is that they are GSM cards, that they are activated, and that they are installed properly (this can become an issue on phones with two or dual sim slots.)

Many people are concerned that the cheaper, pay as you go cards don’t offer good or equal coverage. These concerns often work out to be unfounded. Many of the smaller companies use the same networks as the larger carriers. So, you’re often getting the same service for less cost and commitment. But, if this is still a concern for you, it may help to know that many of the large carriers offer pre paid or pay as you go options. Examples are AT&T’s GoPhone and T Mobile’s “T Mobile To Go.” Examples are some of the smaller companies are simple mobile and H20 but there are many others and most use the same towers and frequencies.  (You can see other examples at http://i9accessories.com/.)

So how do these non contract sim cards work? It used to be that you had to pay per minute, message, or web usage. Back then, you couldn’t really get bundles or pay a monthly rate for “everything,” “unlimited,” or “all inclusive” service. This is no longer the case. Many of the small and large carriers alike now offer pay as you go customers a flat rate for unlimited talk, text and web. In fact, it appears to me that this really is the future of both pre paid and contract cards. There will probably always be a market for a la carte or individual pricing, but most consumers are increasingly interested in the inclusive monthly bundles or packages.
