Can I upgrade Iphone 3g to 3gs?
am having a iPhone 3G which i had bought in February 2009. As it has become old, i wonder to have 1 iPhone 3GS. So, i wondering to go to ATT and clear that would they will allow me to get 3GS. I am also ready to pay little amount for that. But before going there i thought to ask you guys. What you guys say ??

Apple official announced the iPhone 3GS for $199 with 16GB and $299 with 32GB. But this price was only for the new Att customers. Now as you are already a iPhone 3g customer you can upgrade but it will cost you $500. Isn’t it ridiculous ?
Here is the price of iPhone in AT & T iPhone customers who areupgrading other:
S iPhone 3G 16GB $ 399
S iPhone 3G 32GB $ 499
iPhone 3G 8GB $ 299

The problem is that if you bought a local phone provider with a two-year contract and a price “subsidized” you are probably still more than 12 months before the contract is completed and when the time but you should consult your service provider, chances are that you must pay significantly more to access the new 3G iPhone S.
The question to consider is whether there is justification to upgrade to new iPhone 3G S. Taking into account that theimprovements are not radical and essentially paying for a phone would be faster and better camera that can record video, a compass, voice control, and some other small improvements. Almost all other functions of the iPhone 3G S may also be used in previous models of iPhone with free software update 3.0.

Thanks for sharing this useful info friends. I just wanted to know, isn’t possible to upgrade an iPhone 3g to iPhone 3gs with any kind of tool or software or via software update in their store. ?

Nope, that is not possible at all coz of the different hardware. You can only do it from ATT but at worst price.. If you are still under contract than i guess they will charge you around 400 dollars to upgrade from 3G to 3GS.

We know that in the U.S. the AT & T customers and current iPhone users will pay $ 200 extra to upgrade to new model without waiting for the end of your contract. This means that for the current iPhone 3G users will pay $ 399 for the 16GB version of the iPhone 3G and S $ 499 for the 32GB. That is if they sign a contract for another two years, unless they want a contract the price is $ 599 for the 16GB iPhone 3G and S $ 699 for the 32GB.

I can not answer this question for you, when the time comes each should consult your operator and then have to decide whether the new features justify the expense.
